My name is Seamus Foley. I’m a Chartered Market Technician (CMT), qualified analyst, professional trader, and trading coach with more than two decades of experience trading financial markets. I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Business and have traded professionally across Ireland and England.

My career began over 22 years ago as a proprietary trader with Brian McCarthy’s Fexco Investment Company in County Kerry. Those seven years were where I shaped my trading discipline, gained deep market insight, and completed my CMT designation.

​

From there, I spent six years at the hedge fund Quality Capital Management (QCM) in Surrey as a senior Trader, developing and executing systematic strategies across global financial markets.

In 2018 I returned home to Ireland, where I built my dream home beside Killarney National Park.

Since then, I’ve worked as a commodity trader for Centrica’s Bord Gáis Energy for the past seven years, managing risk and positions within one of Europe’s largest energy portfolios.

Alongside my institutional work, I’ve coached traders for over 11 years, both within corporate environments and privately. I also manage funds for a small group of high‑net‑worth clients, maintaining the same disciplined, data‑driven approach I emphasize in my coaching.

Trading is one of the most rewarding yet unforgiving pursuits. My career has included every lesson the markets can offer blown a/c's, painful drawdowns, emotional mistakes, and eventually to long road to profitability. The turning point came when I stopped chasing holy grails and focused on what truly matters: trends, discipline, risk control, emotional mastery, and structured performance review.

Those same principles now form the foundation of my coaching. My coaching cuts through noise and focuses on what actually works.

Outside the markets, I’m passionate about learning, nature, and growth. I love reading, exploring new places, and spending time with my family and friends. I’ve been an avid surfer for the past 25 years, I enjoy skiing and snowboarding in winter, and have always been connected to outdoors & sport. I played Gaelic football underage and senior level for the Kerry football team and with my local club, and remain an enthusiastic supporter.
